Center for Artificial Intelligence in Business Analytics and Financial Technology

Josh Panknin

Real estate is a complex and dynamic industry that requires the blending of quantitative data with qualitative data, as well as a deep understanding of the nuances of the industry.  While there has been a large amount of money invested in the development of real estate technology (between $70 and $100 billion since 2008, depending on the source), many of the challenges of real estate have proven to be difficult to solve.  Columbia faculty, staff, and students have engaged in work with top real estate firms to apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning on fundamental issues in real estate such as automated valuation, portfolio and asset allocation, and corporate real estate management frameworks.
